On July 16, 2014, the Chamber of Commerce Professional Women’s Leadership Association awarded seven (7) scholarships to women in our community who are pursuing education toward a rewarding career. The awards luncheon was held at Bentwinds Golf & Country Club and enjoyed a crowd of approximately 60 attendees that included: the scholarship recipients, their families, Chamber Executive Director Tommy Broadwell, Chamber Director of Member Services Lynanne Fowle, Chamber Board Chair Lisa Schreiner, Board members, Chamber Ambassadors, Fuquay-Varina Mayor John Byrne, Town Commissioner Blake Massengill, Fuquay-Varina Town Public Information Officer Susan Weis, and PWLA members and their guests.
Kathy Buchanan, owner of Insurance Matters was the luncheon sponsor, and was joined by corporate sponsor Duke Energy representative Beth Stevenson. The PWLA would like to thank everyone for their support and making this event special. Special thanks to to Bentwinds for being the PWLA’s facility sponsor again this year.
