For anyone looking for a way to get out and enjoy the great outdoors or to find a place to become involved in organized sports, then Fuquay-Varina has the perfect option for all requirements.
Golf courses are a mainstay for the town and many challenging greens supply plenty of variety for golfers. Bentwinds Golf and Country Club is a private 6,466-yard, 18-hole course sculpted from the natural splendor of the area’s gently rolling countryside, including lush farmlands, pines and oaks. Crooked Creek Golf Club’s 18-hole course includes dramatic elevations and manicured sloping greens, making it an exciting test. The clubhouse also offers lessons and has a fully stocked pro shop.
The area’s gorgeous parks encompass an ideal mix of athletic and soothing spaces. Fuquay Mineral Spring Park contains picnic tables, park benches, a footbridge and a memorial brick path. A picnic shelter, playground area and grilling area are located at Library Park. The Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Education Park’s 28 acres include 2 miles of interpretive walking trails, overlooks and bridges, with an outdoor classroom and a picnic pavilion.
The Fuquay-Varina Community Center features a fitness room, a gymnasium, and meeting and classrooms. A multi-purpose room recently underwent a major addition that more than doubled its size. An abundance of classes are held at the center, including yoga, Pilates, aerobics, sewing, children’s art, youth ballet and many more. Additionally, an open-gym schedule includes time for basketball, volleyball and family fun.
