Savor Fuquay-Varina Donation to Food Pantry

The Chamber of Commerce held a successful event on Saturday, April 27, 2013.  The first of its kind – SAVOR Fuquay-Varina was attended by approximately 400 guests.  The main purpose of this event was to showcase our vendors.  The food was excellent – from hors d’eourves to finger foods – sandwiches to sides and main courses – any kind of dessert one could imagine.

There was also wine and beer tasting and sales of wine.  The Chamber also hosted a Silent Auction which was popular to the attendees.  The main highlight of the evening was the Reverse Raffle.  Many purchased tickets and there were two winners at the end of the event.  The weather held out and it was a beautiful evening.  Even the kids had fun.

A portion of the proceeds were donated to the Fuquay-Varina Food Pantry.  Pictured are from left to right – SAVOR Co Chairs Jonathan Holland (State Farm), Durwood Lassiter (Joseph C Woodard Printing), Chef Joe Fazy, (Marketing Manager-Grower’s Market), Christie Cook (The News & Observer), De O’Brien (Food Pantry), Executive Director Tommy Broadwell (FVCOC), Director of Member Services Lynanne Fowle (FVCOC) and Ray O’Brien (Food Pantry).  Folks in town are talking about next year.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this Chamber event successful.
