Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce Councils & Committees

The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce has 3 standing councils and 3 committees, along with specific event committees, to address the needs of the Chamber and our members.

Participation on these volunteer committees is open to all members and we encourage our members to be active in the areas that interest you.

Volunteering on a committee is a way of learning more about what is happening in town, giving back to the community, and getting to know your fellow Chamber members.  Our councils consist of Chamber members and members of the public as applicable to the mission of each individual council.

The councils and committees are:

Ambassadors

Chair: Marty Woodward

The Ambassadors committee was established to serve new, existing, and prospective members of the Chamber of Commerce. This committee is involved in active recruitment and expansion of membership. Ambassadors assist new members in transitioning to become active and involved in Chamber functions. An important responsibility of this committee is to help educate new members and prospects about the benefits of Chamber membership, while acting as a liaison between the Chamber and the general membership. If you'd like to consider joining the group, you can apply here!

Education Council

Chair: Wanda Denning

The Education Council serves as a clearinghouse of information regarding educational issues in our area and facilitates a vital relationship between Fuquay-Varina’s schools and community businesses. The Education Council works to ensure that achievements in local education receive the support and recognition they deserve. By capturing the energies and capabilities within our community, we will actively connect young people with the resources they need to lead healthier and more productive lives.

Event Committees

Chair: Varies by event

The Event Committees oversee each of the major fundraising and community events organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Events that have their own committee including, but not limited to: Run the Quay, the Fall Women's Summit, and the Annual Fuquay-Varina Christmas Parade. These committees meet as needed, depending on the demands of the associated event. Programs such as InnovateFV and Leadership Fuquay-Varina also rely on volunteers to help with planning and execution.
